Planned LDS practice online training projects:
Missionary Work and the Atonement (Inspired by talk given by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland): In my imaginary world, this would be used as part of the training at the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in the language the missionary trainee will be teaching to help them learn and remember what investigators need to do first so that the missionary doesn't focus solely on baptism. Then in the imaginary world, if this worked, mission presidents would be given a survey to complete to find out what other topics might help the green missionary be better prepared. Then training would be created for that.
On Revelation (Inspired by talks during the April General Conference given by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf and Elder David A Bednar): These 2 talks (plus an earlier one by President Uchtdorf) were the catalysts that opened me up for the revelation I received about the one sheep (see very first blog entry) and how the Lord trully is mindful of me and loves me. Two weeks later, while pondering on the one sheep revelation, I realized that a prayer was being answered - that I be able to see myself through His eyes and the eyes of my friends who see so many good things about me. If I am worth someone coming into the wilderness to bring me back, then I am not the person for whom I had a lot of self-hatred and self loathing. I am not totally there but am oh so much closer. Then the realization that these talks had opened me up to the needed revelation further proved that Heavenly Father is mindful of me and loves me.
Brief History of the Relief Society: 2012 is the 170th anniversary of the creation of the Relief Society.
Brief History of the Church's Welfare Program: this year (2011) marks the 75th anniversary of the creation of the LDS Church's Welfare Program.
Reverencing Womanhood (tentative): This would be based on a Fireside talk Sister Bednar gave to the young women at BYU-Idaho when her husband, Elder David A. Bednar, was the president of the university. This is a tentative project because it is dependent on me being able to find the text (in full) of the talk or a full recording of the talk.
Note: These projects may or may not be available to the general public because they are not official church material. If I do open it to the public, please bear with me as there will be disclaimers everywhere you go on these projects.
